Nothing
It feels like lately that none of our plans are working out. We keep trying to do what we think we are supposed to do but it pans into nothing.
Bill and I really want to be hospitable. We have attempted to invite people over the past 2 weeks. So far none of those invites have worked out.
The kids keep getting sick. I am not one to get down about sickness. It happens. It is that time of year, you just have to accept sickness. For some reason though, these bugs that the kids keep getting feel as though they are lasting forever. I know we will be well again, but it feels as though we will not.
We had a few ideas for what to do for housing, but they have all fallen through. We have to be out of this house by May 16th and so far have no ideas as to were we will go.
The hours of the day seem to just tick slowly, and yet the weeks seem to go speeding along ...with nothing accomplished.
Nothing!
Nothing?
I wonder.
"We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps." (Prov 16:9)
As much as it feels like "nothing" is happening or being accomplished I have to wonder that we are right in the midst of where God wants us. I am not sure what He is up to, but we know that He is. The thought occurred to me the other day that during these days of "nothing" I should just enjoy. I need to take the time to enjoy the quietness of our lives right now because it will not always be so. Could it be that this time is a gift?
We pray for wisdom and clear direction. While we wait I think I am going to just trust and enjoy the day that the Lord has given, whatever it holds.
